Sweet Pea Stampers Fire

Hi all what a night last night, we had a thunder storm around
half three this morn, then it absolutely chucked it down
for ages. It was so hard it started coming down the chimney
so we had a drip drip drip until it stopped raining.
I got up to go to the loo
and had a nice surprise in the bathroom our pet hamster sat on the
edge of the bath.

She had managed to climb out of the top hatch of her cage
(it had been left open),
although it's been open before and she's never
climbed out, it can't have been the easiest thing to do.
I've got visions of her swinging like your on monkey bars,
to the Mission Impossible music.
I am so glad i got up because god knows where
she could have ended up.

Anyway onto my card for today it's for the
challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers.
The fab theme this week is
Earth, Wind and Fire.
I have chosen Fire as my birthday is a fire sign.

The stamp i have used is called 'Shining on'
She has been coloured with promarkers and the background
i used a big and juice stamp pad.
The papers are from DCWV once upon a time stack.
gold mirri card, gold ribbon, flowers are papermania
and I've used card candy in orange for the centres and corners.
The leaves are from a Martha Stewart and Woodware punches,
i used card sprayed in orange cosmic shimmer mist.
I glittered her wing with star dust stickles glitter glue.

I'll get back to my housework now before
tennis starts (come on Andy).

In the Garden at Just Magnolia

Hi all my card today is for Just Magnolia week 60 challenge,
the theme is 'In the garden'.
That's where i have been all week, it's been warm warm warm,
my little crafty area is in my conservatory
and it's to hot to sit in there and craft during the day
so i only go in when the sun's gone down, so there's
not much crafting being done.
I shouldn't complain after the cold winter
we had,
let's enjoy it while it lasts.

Out came my polychromos pencils again I've got the set now so
i made a colour chart for them.
I had a good play with all the colours and then coloured this
magnolia scene i created.
I really enjoyed making this card building up the image
using Magnolia tree, butterfly grass, bench and one of the new
Tilda's that have just come out, they just seem to get more and more prettier.

The flowers i have used i got from Hobbycraft, the leaves are punched
from a woodware punch.
The sentiment stamp is hero arts and the paper is from MME bloom and grow.
I've used a glitter marker pen for the earrings and the flower stamen's.

Anyone for Ice Cream

Hi all i can believe its been a week since my last post
where has the time gone?
It's been fabulous weather here all week, I've been out and about
and i haven't done any crafting.

But when i got an e mail from crafts and me telling me
the come softly stamp from sweet pea was in, i ordered it
(and a few others) straight away and couldn't wait
to use it.

I made this card last night i was going to watch England's match
but what a load of rubbish that was. i gave up at half time i couldn't
stand it anymore. Hubby said it didn't get much better in the
second half so i didn't miss much.
They like to make it hard work for themselves.

Anyway on to my card, my local craft shop had just got these
fab card candy gems in from craftwork cards, in lots of
great colours i got totally tropical and iced gems.
I have used the iced gems in green and pink on the flowers,
this is were my colour scheme came from.

The challenges i have entered are Sweet Pea Stampers
who have the sketch i've used
and also Papertake Weekly by a funny coincidence
has an Ice Cream theme.

The paper i have used is DCWV Nanna's Nursery.
The Fairyland sentiment free with craft stamper mag.
I have used the new nellie's oval die's and Martha Stewart's
Doily lace trim double edge punch and Branch punch.
Prima flowers, pearl gems and stickles glitter glue.

It looks like it's going to be another nice one,
i think we'll have a BBQ tonight.
hope you all have a nice day.

A Good Book

Hi all back to normal fighting fit my colds gone hurrah!!
I've not been crafting much this week, the kids are on school hols
and the weather has been glorious.
looking through this weeks challenges
i decided to make this card.
It combines two challenges Passion for Promarkers and the
new Sugar Nellie challenge.

Passion for Promarkers has the theme Books and
the sugar bowl has a sketch and also a colour
combo of Black, White and Pink.

It's the first time i have used black to colour something other than hair
It was quite tricky to blend it with the grey i got a lot of bleeding onto
her arm and being dark it's quite hard to cover up.
I decided to cut it out and decoupage it that made it look
better.

The stamp is a good book from sugar nellie.
the backing papers are from popcorn bear CD Rom.
I have used a nesti shape cut out of an old book page and
used distress ink around the edges
The flowers are prima and the butterfly is from a spellbinders die
and glittered round the edge.

I think I'll go outside and have a potter in the garden
