Time for a Sketch

Hi there Hope you all had a fabulous
Christmas and Santa brought you all that you
asked for, he did in our house.

We had a quiet one at home with the family
it was lovely to have them all there.
Plenty to eat and a ton of chocolate, we
were all stuffed. Lol.

This weeks Papertake challenge
is one of Dawny's sketches to
follow which is great when the old
mojo's still on it's Christmas hols.

This weeks challenge is sponsored by
Simon Says Stamp.

The image i have used is one of my favourite
Tilda, i had actually painted it a
while ago and it was waiting to be made into a card.
It's painted with Distress inks on water colour
paper, when it was dry i sprayed it with
pearl mica spray.
The papers are from First Edition Love letters
paper pad.
I used a Martha Stewart heart border punch
on the bottom edge.
Sentiment is from Tim Holtz.
Flowers is made from scraps of paper cut
with a Marianne Creatables die and the flower
is a blossom from Wild orchid crafts.

So hope you all pop over and have a go and
check out the inspiration from the other DT girls
they are fab.

Thanks for looking today
Take care and have a
Happy New Year.

Christmas Cosy

Good morning all hope you are well.
Only a week to go now, my kiddies are on
holidays and it's beginning to feel a lot
like Christmas.
I love the week before Christmas, just slowly
building up to the big day, lots of Christmas
films on the telly and the kids getting more
and more excited. There's nothing like it.

Here's the Christmas tea cosy i
said i would show you all, now it's finished.

Yes it's a Pud. I found the free pattern
off the Internet. The holly pattern is from a
book i have and the berries i made up myself.
I just love it so much I'm now making a matching
coffee pot holder, so watch this space.

Oh well better go and make breakfast for everyone,
It's a late one Seeing as it's Sunday.

Might even use the tea pot.

Christmas crochet

Hi all i'm back with the little bits
i said i would show you.
This is the first one, i found a free
pattern on the internet for these
crochet hearts and thought they
would make fab tree decorations.

This was my first go.
I used DK wool and 5.5mm crochet hook
which made it loose and you could see all the stuffing.
So i had another go using DK doubled up and
that was so much better, a lot tighter and
fuller.
They are so easy to make and quick too.

I added pale blue pearl beads and some
bells so it jingles just like Santa's sleigh.

They are now hanging on my tree
and look so cute.

I have also made my first Tea cosy

This is for my Mother in law for
Christmas. I can show it to you all
as she doesn't own a computer so won,t see.

The cosy is knitted, i followed a pattern
out of one of my books.
The poppy and leaves are crocheted.
I chose these colours as she has a Rayburn
cooker in the same blue and the tiles that
surround it have red poppies on them.

You'll have to excuse the photos
it was such a dull day here and i really
struggled to get a descent photo
and had to brighten them up a bit on
the computer. They're not to bad.

I really enjoyed making this that I'm half way
through making a Christmas one for myself.
i will share it with you when i have finished.

Thanks for looking

Favourite Christmas colours

Hi all OMG what's happened
to the week, it just seems to have
disappeared.  This weeks not going to be
much better. It's the last week of school
and there's all sorts going on, roll on Friday.

This week at Papertake weekly
our challenge is to make a Christmas card
using your favourite Christmas colours.
What could be more Chrismassy than
traditional Red and Green.

This time we are sponsored by
WOJ.

I have done a bit of paper piecing with this fab
Christmas tree stamp from woodware.
The papers are a mixture of Craft Creations and
Papermania.
I cut a Go kreate scallop die circle and used a
Karrs snowflake stamp round the edge with
Fired Brick distress ink.
The sentiment is also stamped with the same ink
and edged with glitter glue.

Not long to go now are you nearly ready?
I got the rest of my shopping done yesterday,
just got to wrap them all up.
I start off making a good job of them but soon get
fed up and the rest look like a dogs dinner.
wrapping always seems to take ages!

I've been doing a bit of crochet and knitting
for Christmas and have a few things to share.
But i think i will keep you in suspenders and
save that for tomorrow.
Gosh I've not said that saying for yonks..LOL.

Thanks for looking and hope to see
you over at Papertake, go check it out.

Take care

Papertake Weekly Anything goes

Hi all hope to find you well.

How's your Christmas shopping going?
I've done a bit, but I've
still got lots more to do though.

This week over at Papertake weekly
it's time for an Anything goes with the
optional extra of adding something dangly.

As always this challenge is sponsored by
the fab Girls at Lili of the valley.

I decided to make my image the dangly so
stamped the LOTV snowman twice onto
a spellbinder circle.
I then coloured it in with my promarkers.
I got some of those fine tips you can add
onto the bullet end of promarkers, wow these
are so fantastic, you can really get into the little
nooks and cranny's of the image.
The papers are from First Edition.
The snowflakes and flowers are both
Marianne Creatables dies on plain white card
embossed and glittered with glamour dust.
Snowflake corner stamp is from Clarity stamps.

I used a Go Kreates scallop die to cut the
aperture out of both the card and patterned paper.

I'm going to have to get a wriggle on and make some
more Christmas cards. I don't know why but i just
can't get that motivated, i even thought the other
day about buying some (slap my hands) i didn't,
but i might!

take care
