Birthday Boy

Hi all hope you are all well,
We are all at sixes and sevens here
at the moment.
We are fitting new windows so everything
is a mess.
Fortunately my crafty corner is in the
conservatory which is fine, so
i can escape there for a bit.

It's Papertake weekly time again
and this week we have one of
Dawny's fabulous sketches to follow
which is sponsored this week by
Simon says stamp

So go and check it out

It's my Nephews birthday coming up soon
so i decided to combine the two,
i made him a card using the sketch.

I've used one of the fab images
from Teddy Bo and co.
Isn't he Jolly.
I have coloured him in with promarkers.
I have noticed lately a lot of Kraft card
appearing on cards, and i have
finally got some although it came
in the form of card blanks.  I bought
some in 6x6 so i could cut some of it up.
This time i have used it as a blank, doing that
though meant i had to decorate the inside
which i never do, so this was new to me.

As you can see i kept it simple, i noticed
on other blogs when they decorate the inside
they put a faint image of the main image in the
bottom corner, with this being digital
i just printed it off in draft and a bit smaller
which worked a treat.

The papers are from K&Co berry sweet set.
I tinted the green card i had with peeled paint
distress in as my card stock didn't pop out enough
against the papers.
I made the grass by using an icicle die from
Marianne Creatables that i just bought for my
Christmas cards, when i get round to making them.
I turned it upside down and used peeled paint
distress ink to highlight
or is it lowlight as it's darker.lol.
The sentiment stamps are from LOTV.
I also used my Clarity Feather stamp to
go round the edges with peeled paint ink, to give
it a jungle feel.

Shusssh!
Just to let you know
Next week is very special for
Papertake it's our Birthday
4 years i believe so
we are going to have a very special challenge,
and lots of chances to win some goodies.
So don't forget to look in and check it out.

Thanks for stopping by today
and hope to see you over at

Take care

Crochet Bag

Good Afternoon hope you are well.
I'm going to share with you today my latest
crochet project, i have just finished it
last night.
I wanted to have a nice bag to put
my crocheting in,
instead of the plastic carrier bag
i normally use.
So what else could i do, i had to crochet one.
This was quite easy to make as it is
squares crocheted together.
The hardest part was lining it, but well
worth it.

I had quite a bit of wool left so i made a matching
cupcake pincushion and topped it with a little
rosette and leaf.

It's great now i have a posh bag to
put my next project in, what can i make next
hummm!
i think i might make a scarf for winter.
So watch this space.

Thanks for looking

Creature Comforts

Hi all hope you are well, we are doing ok
after the loss of Mel the Hamster.
We had a little ceremony in the garden
under the Apple tree. I was doing ok until the kids
started to cry and then that set me off.
It's funny how much you can get attached to
these little bundles of fur. Boo Hoo!
sniff! sniff!

Anyway onto this weeks
Papertake weekly challenge
Our theme this week is

Creature Comforts
sponsored by Wendy's Digital Delights.

We want to see projects that feature
animals, cute or anything you like really as long
as there is an animal involved.

This tied in nicely as i had to make a card for Beth's
friend at school it was her 11th Birthday and
she adores Tatty Teddy.

The Tatty Teddy stamp was a freebie with a
magazine i have used promarkers to colour it in,
in shades of Ice grey.
Stamped round the edge with a stars and balloon
stamp off the same freebie set.
The papers are from Bearly Mine.
I made the ribbon strip with matching card and
Dots embossing folder that came with the stamp.
Hearts are from a Martha Stewart punch.
Ribbon is seam binding from The Ribbon Girl.

She really liked he card.

Camper crazy

Hi all hope you are well, It's a bit
sad here today, the kiddies Hamster
Mel isn't doing very well (old age)
i don't think she will be with us much longer,
So they were feeling sad this morning, bless.

on a lighter note i have had
a play finally with my camper van stamp i
got ages ago, it has never even been out of the
packet so i think it was about time.

Over at I Heart Promarkers challenge this week
they have a theme of Travel/ Transport. so that was
my excuse to have a play.

I have used a mixture of Pro and the new Flex
Markers to colour it in i hope that still counts.
The background paper is an image
i got off the internet.
Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.
Magnolia doily flower.
Martha Stewart branch and flower border punch.
Inked around the edge with Warn Lipstick distress ink.

I am also going to enter it into this weeks
Creative Inspiration - Anything goes.

I felt like having a bit of a bake yesterday,
i got a new nozzle and wanted to try it.

The nozzle is great, looks so professional,
it's a Wilton Rose 2D.
all i did then is give them a sprinkle
of edible glitter.
No doubt they won't last long with my three.lol.

Take care
