Double Ta-dah!!

Hi all well, I've finished my spring blanket
and with one day to go woo hoo.
Some of you might remember i gave myself till the
end of the month to finish it.
It's been tough this week sitting with it on my knee
in this lovely warm weather we have had.
So i mostly stuck to working on it in the evenings.

In the end i went for a simple
picot edging on a row of trebles.

It's going to look fab in the camper,
now I'm going to make some matching
bunting and if i have any wool (sorry yarn) left a
tea cosy.

In between making the blanket i also
made a ripple pattern cushion out
of the same book.

This is such an easy pattern to do
it grew in no time at all.
I'm thinking another blanket might be in
order in this style (but not to soon, i need time
 to recover first).

I must have picked the colours subconsciously
look how well it matches my Ikea cushion and it
 was not planned.

Last photo just to give you a spring boost
Daffs from the garden.

Daisy, Daisy.

Hi all hope you are well, what fab weather we have
been having here over in the North West
it feels like summer.
So much so that the shorts have made their
first outing this year and so have my
Maxi dresses.
They don't often get an outing so I'm making the
most of it while i can.
I don't know how long it's going to last,
the kiddies break up for Easter hols on
Friday so the weather is bound to change.

This weeks Papertake challenge is on again
and it's Sketch time.

We are sponsored by
Simon Says Stamp.

I've gone a bit Vintage this time.
It all started with sorting a cupboard and
coming across my Twinkling H2O's which
i must confess (shock, horror) have well and
truly been neglected.
Then getting all excited about using them
again, it felt like i had got something new to play with.
I wanted to paint something delicate so out
came my Flower Fairy's stamps from
Crafters Companion.
This little Daisy stamp look so pretty she
had to be coloured.
The Backing papers are from Sheena's CD Rom
i then used the daisy to over stamp this along the
bottom with Frayed Burlap.
I used a couple of Marianne Creatables dies
behind main image.
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the
lace and Ribbon from stash.

While i had all my H2O's out hubby came in with
an old CD disc spool asking if there was
anything i could do with it. I'm sure I've seen
this idea somewhere on blog land, it pop straight
in my head when i saw the spool.

Isn't it fab. I have used
pinflair glue to stick them to the clear
disc's you get in the pack, this way i
can still see the colour names and it keeps
them all together and handy. It
also frees up some much needed draw space
and it's recycling.

Thanks for stopping by today
hope to see your wonderful
creations over at Papertake weekly.
Take care

BINGO!!!

Hi all hope you are well,
and all you Mums out there got
spoilt rotten on Sunday.
I had breakfast in bed and got
some lovely smelly stuff and new shoes.
Beth had also been busy at Guides last week
and made me these.

I have put the fab Keyring on my Knitting bag,
if i put it on my keys it might get broken.
It was a glorious day here so we went for a walk
along the sea front, we even manage to get
my 14 year old to come along to.
It was a brilliant day.

Onto my card today

It's Papertake time and this weeks
challenge is Bingo time.

Choose a line from the grid
it can be up, down, across or diagonal
it's up to you.

This weeks challenge is sponsored by
The Ribbon Girl.

I chose the bottom row
Buttons, Glitter,Lace.

As you can see i have been having a play
with Sheena's Paint fusion stamps again.
I love this lilac, when i saw it on C&C as a
pick of the week i knew i had to have it.
Lilacs are one of my favourite flowers
i love the scent.
This was one of the first goes, i also did
another two and gave them to my Mum and
Mum in law for mother's day they
both said 'wow have you painted it.'
Once you know the tricks it so easy to do.

I have made this one for a lady we know,
it's her 60th next month.

The Dragonfly's are buttons, i had to break to
loop off the back so they would sit right.
I used Glitter card and added glitter to the image.
I then added a row of lace flowers along the bottom.

Blanket update i have one more row to add
which i am going to do when i leave the computer.
Then i have to join the squares on the
other sides and then lastly put a trim around the edge.
It's getting exciting now it coming together.

Isn't it great we have had lovely weather the last
few days and i have finaly managed to get into the
garden. I tidied up the green house and got some
seeds sown. Lets hope this weathers here to stay,
i must admit i'm only a fair weather gardener, if
it's dull or cold it's a no! no!

Thanks for looking today

One for the girls

Hi all hope you are well.
It's time for another challenge over
and this week is all about the girls.
In the UK we have Mother's day
coming up this Sunday so the challenge
is to make your cards
as girly as you can.

This week we are sponsored by
The Stamp Fairy.

I have used one of my all time favourite
Tilda's and coloured her in with distress inks.
Papers are from Basic Grey.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Sentiment is computer generated.
Butterfly and paper ribbon are made with
Martha Stewart's punches.

Thought i'd show you how the blanket is coming on

 I'm getting there

Looking good though. Must confess i've not been
paying much attention to it, I just had to start on
a ripple effect cushion i've been planning, i
will get if finished and before the end of the
month that's my target.( give or take a week).

Thanks for looking and hope to see you
over at Papertake.
Take care

Pretty Butterfly

Hi all hope to find you well today.

Well would you believe it, it's Tuesday
again I'm sure I've missed a couple of days
this last week, it's come round so quick.

So onto this weeks Challenge over at
It's anything goes week and this
week the optional extra is to use
shrink plastic.
As ever we are sponsored by the
wonderful Lili of the Valley.

I've been having a play with this card,
Out came my distress inks and watercolour card.
Also i had to remember where my shrink plastic was,
not played with it for years and it had been tidied
away so it took me half an hour to find it.
But ooh what fun, i had forgotten how
much fun shrink plastic is.
The stamps i have used are from the
range that Sheena does for
paint fusion.
Stamped the flower on the shrink and
coloured lightly to make a little charm.
The butterfly is stamped onto watercolour card
 and painted with distress inks
 Weathered wood and Spun sugar.
The backing paper is a perfect match,
i was lucky as i painted my image again first
then tried to match the papers.
It's from DCWV old world stack.
I love this stack there are lots of fabulous
distressed papers.
Stamped swirls round the main image and embossed
them with silver embossing powder,
also did the same with the sentiment.
Ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl.

Now I've rediscovered shrink plastic
I'm definitely going to use it more.

Blanket update
 I've put together 5 rows
at the moment and it's looking good only
another 19 rows to go.

Thanks for looking today
hope to see you over at Papertake.
Take care

Hooray!!!!!

Hi all hope you are well.
HOORAY!!!!
i have finally finished making all
432
granny squares for my blanket.
I  finished them last night, i have had a big
push over the last few days as i
could see the end in sight.
Between you and me though I'm all granny squared out,
so i think i might wait awhile before i
tackle another.

The next job is now to crochet them all together.
I made a start last night as i have been dying to
see what they look like in their finished state.

I'm also glad i tidied the backs as i went
along, as i didn't relish the thought of
doing it all in one go when it was all
put together.

On the home straight now i don't know how long it's
going to take to put together but it's nice to
be doing something other than a square.

Take care
