Distress inks

Hi all i don't have a card for you today but i thought i
would share with you my first efforts
at water colouring with distress inks.

Reading through the latest copy of Magnolia ink mag,
i noticed a lot of the cards are done with this method,
i wanted to try myself.

so i made a colour chart come pallet laminating it,
and off i went.

I used watercolour paper, i first tried on some cheap
paper but it bled and didn't seem to blend right.
So i then used some better quality paper and
wow wow wow it seemed to blend perfectly.

I did scourer the interweb looking for tutorials
and tips, i found a few on You tube they make it seem so easy.

Everyone seemed to use Tattered Rose for the skin
i also added a bit of Antique linen for the shading this seems to work well.

I just have the ink pads but i noticed that a lot of people
use the reinker bottles. Do you get a stronger colour
using these or is it the same?
If anybody knows.

The best thing though is to play it's only paper.

The stamps i have used are two from the new Magnolia
You are so special range. The other stamp is a freebie
from simply card and paper craft mag i got yesterday.
It's a Molly Blooms stamp.
I don't normally by mags (except the Magnolia ink mag of course),
I only buy them if i like the freebie.

Last night when i have finished i was thinking
Ooh i don't know if these are any good, but
this morning they seem a lot better,
and seeing them photographed on the computer
(even though i do say so myself) they look great.
Make way for the big head.. LOL.. ha! ha! ha!

Hope you all have a fab weekend,
I'll probably be practicing more.
Thanks for stopping by

Coffee in the clouds

Hi all, hope you are all having a fab weekend.
My card today is for three challenges

Lovely Hanglar only - Anything goes.
Just Magnolia and Hanglar - Few of my favourite things.
CES Challenge - No DP allowed.

I thought at first this would be a tricky one, i know
how we all like our papers, i have some that are that nice
i keep them for stroking. LOL.
But when i thought about it and decided to use my
embossing folders and core-dinations card it all came together.

For the Magnolia/Hanglar challenge you have to pick some
of the favourite things, this was hard because most of my
crafty things are my favourite. so actually it wasn't hard after all.
I have used a new Hanglar stamp that came on Friday,
it's from the winter set. My collection of Hanglar stamps
is slowly growing and i think these are my faves at the moment.
eerm.. along with LOTV and Magnolia and sweet pea and .........anyway!

I have coloured her with copics and polychromos pencils and
sansador.
The sentiment is from LOTV and i have inked
around the edge of this and the image
with Weathered Wood distress ink.
I have used swirls cuttlebug embossing folder,
with some pink whitewash core-dinations card.
The flowers are from Prima.
Pearl brads, cross charm brad and ribbon from stash.
Swirly clip from woodware.
Leaves punched from Martha Stewart punch.

My only problem which to use, in the end i settled on this little cutie
She is called pom pom and she is just
adorable.

I have coloured her in with copics.
The papers are once again K and Co best of paper stack,
i seem to be using this a lot lately but there is a paper
for every occasion and colour in it.
The sentiment is LOTV.
I have stamped out a Magnolia heart for a little tag
and used Martha Stewart heart border punch.
I have also used Marianne Creatables die's.

Winter Wonderland

Hi there hope to find you well on this nice sunny day (well it is where i live).
I've just got back from the hairdressers and i feel
human again, had my colour done the grey ones seemed to be invading.
Yeah Yeah OK! I'm not a natural blond i haven't been since i was 10.
but that's our secret.

Did you all manage to get your LOTV stamps last night,
they launched them at midnight.
It must have been bombed out because it took me an
hour to order them the Internet was that slow so it was after
1 o'clock this morn before i got to bed.
I just didn't want to miss out on any, there was quite a few
i loved. i don't think I'll do that again especially on a school night though,
i do like my sleep.

It's Papertake Weekly time again and this week the theme is

A Cold and Frosty Morning.

And we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish
they have some fab digi stamps.
Check them out.

The image i used is called 'In the cold' and was coloured with my
promarkers, Cold greys, lilac and amethyst I've just realised that I'm using
Lilac and Amethyst a lot lately don't ask me why it must be a phase.
The Paper and sentiment stamp are both from Graphicus.
I have used a nesti shape and i edged it with Dusty concord distress ink.
I sprayed the snow area with spray glitter from Crafters Companion.
I embossed the sentiment with cosmic shimmer embossing powder
in a pale blue colour
Ribbon and snowflake brad from stash.

Don't forget go and check out Papertake weekly and have a go
we had an incredible amount of entries last week nearly 600,
wow wow and thanks to you all.

Right i think it's brew time now, i might go into the
conservatory and sit in the sun while it's out.
Thanks for looking

New Beginnings

Hi folks well would you believe it yet another card ,
they seem to be a bit like buses at the moment.
The Christmas break must of helped as I'm raring
to go ( crafty wise that is !!).

I was looking at the challenges last night and thought
I'd have a go at this weeks Penny Black Challenge
with the theme of New Beginnings.
I did think about doing a new home card but because i
don't have many stamps to choose from penny black wise
i settled on a new baby even though i don't know anybody
who's having a baby at the moment. Except the Beckhams
it was announced this morn that they are expecting but i somehow think
they might want a girl so even this cards no good. I'll stop
waffling now honest.

I'm also going to enter this into this weeks CES challenge this
is a first for me, i have never entered in this challenge before
there theme is All creatures great and small.

As you can see my stamp is from penny blacks Tiny wishes stamp set.
I have dug out my Polychromos Pencils to colour him in,
and blended with sansador.
The paper is Papermania's sweet nothings
The ribbon buckle is from woodware.
I think the ribbon came free with a mag years ago.
I have used the new nesti shape i have just got,
I think it's an unusual but fab shape.
Sentiment of course is LOTV i think these circle sentiment
stamps must have been a hit as i see them a lot all
over blog land.

Oh well just in time again to go and get
the kiddie winks from school.
thanks and

Just Hanglar

Hi all I'm on a roll, this is the third card this week.
If you've gotta craft you've gotta craft.

My card is for three challenges:

Friday Sketchers,
Just Magnolia and Hanglar - Anything including buttons
and Lovely Hanglar only - 3 Flowers, 2 Brads, 1 Ribbon.

The colour scheme started off with the
heart buttons i found in my button box.
They are nearly the same size as the hearts on the stamp,
so were perfect to use.

I have used a Hanglar stamp and coloured her in with
Promarkers Lilac, Amethyst, Pastel Pink, Salmon Pink,
Tan, Cocoa and a blender.
I used Dusty concord and Tattered rose distress ink.
The paper is from K and Co the best of paper stack.
I think i got the flowers from hobbycraft a long time ago.
I used a Martha Stewart Leaf punch.
The heart buttons, heart brads and ribbon from stash.
