Busy Doing Nothing

Good morning all Just showing a quick card i made last night.
I saw these stamps over on the Sheena Douglass blog and
she gave everyone the chance to win a set.
Unfortunately i didn't win but i loved the stamps so much
i ordered the multi buy when they were shown on
C&C. The postie brought them yesterday
so i had to have a play last night.
I think this little darling is my fave, i just love
her dress.

Yes i did colour her in with Distress inks, I'm just loving these
at the moment. The great thing is as well you can colour so
quick with them.
I don't know about you, but I seem to go through fads with colouring.
One minute it markers then it's polychromos pencils now it's
distress ink's whats next???

The stamped images and sentiment is
'Busy Doing Nothing' by Sheena.
I have stamped her onto watercolour paper with
archival black ink. I used distress inks in
peeled paint, fired brick,frayed burlap,
weathered wood and bundled sage.
Papers are MME summer papers a freebie with a craft mag last year.
Martha Stewart heart border punch off cut i made into a little
taggy thing (i don't know what to call it).
I also went mad with the cosmic shimmer glitter glue.
i seem to have a thing for that as well at the mo,
i don't think i should have put it on the taggy thing though,
i don't think it looks right.
Never mind.

water coloured effect. it's great.
So i had to take a trip to my local craft shop yesterday
and bought three more pads, some of the new colours.
Also saw the new Nellie dies so i got the hearts and circles as well.
Then had to leave before i saw something else. It's
lethal, i can easily spend my money in there.

For the Simon Says challenge i chose to use the line
Gems, Glitter, Ribbon

I have used a LOTV stamp and coloured her with Distress inks.

Distress inks

Hi all i don't have a card for you today but i thought i
would share with you my first efforts
at water colouring with distress inks.

Reading through the latest copy of Magnolia ink mag,
i noticed a lot of the cards are done with this method,
i wanted to try myself.

so i made a colour chart come pallet laminating it,
and off i went.

I used watercolour paper, i first tried on some cheap
paper but it bled and didn't seem to blend right.
So i then used some better quality paper and
wow wow wow it seemed to blend perfectly.

I did scourer the interweb looking for tutorials
and tips, i found a few on You tube they make it seem so easy.

Everyone seemed to use Tattered Rose for the skin
i also added a bit of Antique linen for the shading this seems to work well.

I just have the ink pads but i noticed that a lot of people
use the reinker bottles. Do you get a stronger colour
using these or is it the same?
If anybody knows.

The best thing though is to play it's only paper.

The stamps i have used are two from the new Magnolia
You are so special range. The other stamp is a freebie
from simply card and paper craft mag i got yesterday.
It's a Molly Blooms stamp.
I don't normally by mags (except the Magnolia ink mag of course),
I only buy them if i like the freebie.

Last night when i have finished i was thinking
Ooh i don't know if these are any good, but
this morning they seem a lot better,
and seeing them photographed on the computer
(even though i do say so myself) they look great.
Make way for the big head.. LOL.. ha! ha! ha!

Hope you all have a fab weekend,
I'll probably be practicing more.

Milled Lavender distress ink.
I have used seam binding ribbon in a Mushroom colour.
There are a few places

very cheap (we all love a crafty bargain).

Coffee in the clouds

Hi all, hope you are all having a fab weekend.
My card today is for three challenges

Lovely Hanglar only - Anything goes.
Just Magnolia and Hanglar - Few of my favourite things.
CES Challenge - No DP allowed.

I thought at first this would be a tricky one, i know
how we all like our papers, i have some that are that nice
i keep them for stroking. LOL.
But when i thought about it and decided to use my
embossing folders and core-dinations card it all came together.

For the Magnolia/Hanglar challenge you have to pick some
of the favourite things, this was hard because most of my
crafty things are my favourite. so actually it wasn't hard after all.
I have used a new Hanglar stamp that came on Friday,
it's from the winter set. My collection of Hanglar stamps
is slowly growing and i think these are my faves at the moment.
eerm.. along with LOTV and Magnolia and sweet pea and .........anyway!

I have coloured her with copics and polychromos pencils and
sansador.
The sentiment is from LOTV and i have inked
around the edge of this and the image
with Weathered Wood distress ink.
I have used swirls cuttlebug embossing folder,
with some pink whitewash core-dinations card.
The flowers are from Prima.
Pearl brads, cross charm brad and ribbon from stash.
Swirly clip from woodware.

i seem to be using this a lot lately but there is a paper
for every occasion and colour in it.

and used Martha Stewart heart border punch.
