Holidays are here

Hi all hope you are well,
Hooray! holidays are here the kiddies
broke up from school on Friday for 6
weeks. It was more emotional
for Beth as she was leaving junior school for good.
She's really excited about going to
big school she can't wait. I don't think
that feeling will last that long once she gets there.

As you know i had decided to take a break
from cardmaking for a little while, so
what happens, i get a commission to do.
It's for the granddaughter of a lady
i have made a few cards for, I think i made a birthday
card for her and she loved it so much she
asked if i could make one for her
teacher to say thank you.
Then Beth saw it and loved it, she asked if i could
make one the same for her teacher
so i ended up making two.
Never mind.

Out shopping the other day in a lovely little shop
that sells material i came across this fab
remnant so i decided to use it to reline my
wool basket. It needed jazzing up as the
lining was just a plain cream and boring.

It was the colours that instantly
drew me to it. I didn't have enough to go
right to the bottom it's about an inch off,
i have attached it to the liner that was there
already and when it's full of wool you
would never know.

Talking of wool here's what I'm on with at
the moment.

It's the beginnings of a granny square
blanket. Looking through blogland
as you do i came across a fabulous
blog page called
When i saw Julies blanket i
fell in love with it, what fab colours.
So i had a good look through my stash
and found some similar colours, all i had
to do was visit my local wool shop and
get some Grey for the main colour.
I settle on a slate grey from Debbie bliss.

Lastly as it was sunny this morning
we decided to make the most of it and go
car booting. I didn't find many bargains today
just this lovely lace doily.
I have been after one for my table so i can
put my flower jam jar on.
I think it makes the flowers look so nice.

My hydrangea bush in the garden is
straining under the weight of the
flower heads especially with all the rain
so i have picked some.
I haven't bothered before but how
pretty are they in a jar and they last a while too.
I have added some sprigs of apple mint
 for greenery and smell.
Ooh I don't need to buy any flowers anymore, i think
garden flowers look so pretty and they are free.

Take care
