Bargain basket

Car booting last summer I kept an eye out for a wicker basket, I wanted one to put a project in, big enough for lots of wool so moving form room to room would be easy.

Ta-dah.   I found this for a few £'s. So I set about crocheting a liner for it.

I didn't have a set pattern, I winged it really, made it up as I went along constantly checking it was fitting ok which worked out well in the end phew!!

It's fab I love it it worked out well, it made life easy when during the lovely hot weather we had last summer I could grab and go crocheting outside making the most of the sun while it was here.

Fingers crossed for this summer

Christmas wreath

This is what I was busy with before Christmas. I admired the wreaths Lucy had made over at Attic 24
and fancied making my own. I bought a polystyrene half ring then started the major task of making lots and lots of flowers, holly leaves and little crochet balls.

I'll tell you now you need more flowers than you think, I made a big pile and when I came to put them on the ring it only covered just over half, boo hoo.  Eventually I had enough then came the task of arranging them into what looked pleasing to the eye, I have to admit this took me a few days of messing, having a look as I passed, moving things again and again until hubby said "OMG it fine as it is". Don't tell him but he was right.

I'd also bought a pack of glitter baubles to give it a Christmas feel then I hit on the idea of lighting it up, so I bought a set of battery powered LED lights and it finished it off perfectly, very Christmasy.

I had it hanging on the lounge door I couldn't bring myself to pack it away when Christmas went back into the boxes so it's still there.  I did buy two rings when I ordered them off eBay so I might do a spring/summery one next.

Not yet though I hate to say this but since last week when I showed you the blanket I was making I have now started on yet another one. I couldn't resist, I saw the most gorgeous sampler blanket over at Cherry heart blog, all beautiful neutral shades and that was it, I had to have a rummage in my stash and get going. So I now have three blankets on the go and a jumper.  Ooops!

I'm back

Hi all long time no see and a happy new year. I have decided to start my blog again, I'm still not card making, my craft cupboard door is still well and truly closed but I am loving crocheting, i've always got something on the go.

It all started the other day, hubby bought me an iPad for Christmas and I've been surfing the net as u do and decided out of the blue to look at my own blog. I have not looked at it for well over a year and scrolling through the posts I started reminiscing about things I'd made and did that I had forgotten about. It was nice to remember so I'm going to start blogging again but more for me, I suppose it's like a diary so in years to come I can look back and remember my crafty creations.

This is my latest project it's the start of a blanket the pattern is out of a book I got for my birthday It's Granny Squares by Susan Pinner. The blanket is on the front cover and the best thing is it's using up my scraps of wool although I did have to buy a few balls I was missing a few colours. It's a join as you go so it's not so daunting having to sew it altogether in one go I'm also finishing the backs off as I go as well.

I have a few projects finished and a few still in progress. A jumper I'm knitting and another crochet blanket it's the dark grey one from my Holidays are here post, i did do a bit more, then I'm ashamed to say it got left.  I will finish it though, a New Years resolution  there I've said it now out in public I will finish it before the end of the year!

I'll show some more of my finished projects soon I need to take some photos first
