Wildflower Fairy

Hi all hope you are well.
I have had a big push lately with the blanket
squares i've done another 80 odd or so.
I have got so many other things i want to start
but i've told myself i'm not allowed
to start them till what i've got on the
go at the moment are finished.
Otherwise i'd have bags of projects that just won't get
finished.

Anyway enough wool and onto a card.
It's time for another Papertake Weekly
and this weeks challenge is a
Dawny Sketch.

I love sketches half the battle for me is
layout and following a sketch is just
brill, not much thinking is needed.

I have used a gorgeous digi image
called Wildflower Fairy from
Saturated Canary Digi's off Etsy.
I thinks she's the artist behind the Sassy stamps,
she has a lot of wonderful images you can buy.

I have used a mixture of copics pro an flex markers
to colour her in.
Sentiment stamps is from a flower fairies stamp set.
Papers are from Pink Petticoat vintage rose
collection.
Ribbon and lace are from my stash.

Please go and check out the other
dt's work over at Papertake weekly.

One last thing
Oooooooooo!
look at last my
Hyacinthe bulbs are out.

They smell as good as they look.

Thanks for looking today.

Pot of daffs

Hi all hope you are well and
enjoying your weekend.

Just wanted to share with you a little something
i made last night.
You know how it is, i happened to be passing
my local yarn shop and somehow the
car seemed to stop right outside.
Who was i to argue so in i went to have a look.

WELL

Staring at me from the shelf was
some gorgeous
Louisa Harding Ianthe yarn
in some yummy colours so i had to take them home.
i love the muted tones

Looking through blog land i came across
tins that had crochet covers on them see here
My mum had bought me a pot of daffs so
when i saw these i thought what a great idea
and had to make one
Guess which yarn i had to use.

I used a Pineapple rings tin instead of tuna.
I used a mixture of crochet stitches
Double, Half Double and treble.

And

Ta..  Dah..

I'm really pleased how it turned out.

I left long ends when i changed colours,
after i had sewn the edges together i pulled
all the ends out of the top,
then made them into a tassel to cover the join.

The tin fits the daffs pot perfectly.

It now has pride of place on the kitchen windowsill.

The only thing now is they are quite addictive,
i might have to buy some more pineapple tins
when food shopping next week to make a matching set.

Good job we all like pineapples.

Spring is in the Air

Hi all on this dull and miserable wet
Tuesday hope your are well.
Aren't you just fed up of this weather, they were
even talking about lack of vitamin D this morning on
the BBC, i think we are all suffering.

Well it's Papertake time again and this week
the theme is

Happy Highlights

We want you to highlight part of the image
or paper with something like
Glossy Accents, Glitter or decoupage.

This week we are sponsored by
Bugaboo
Who have 7 digi stamps up for grabs.

I have used one of the images available from
Bugaboo. This one is from the scene it range
called Ladybugs.
I have used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers
to colour it in.
I used Glossy Accents on the Ladybugs.
Papers are from K and Co best of paper pad.
Sentiment i found online as a freebie digi
image.
Flowers are Prima and i have used
Martha Stewart punches for the leaves and
the background.
Ribbon from the Ribbon Girl.
Pin from stash.

Please go and check out the other girls DT work
they are all just fab.

I took a picture of the roses i bought
whilst food shopping last week

Aren't they just gorgeous and cheap to.
I bought them from Aldi £3 for 11 roses.
They had them in all sorts of fab colours.
I got pink as it's my favourite colour.

I'm also on with making a Granny Square
Spring blanket and with the amount of squares
i've got to do it will probably be spring before
i finish making them.

I've got 400+ to make, i've forgotten the total off the
top of my head but i have it written down
in colour combo's so i don't loose my way
and have to recount.

Fortunately they are not to big so you can make a square
quite quickly and i'm finishing them off on the back
as i go so i don't have to do it all at the end.
I can imagine that would take days in itself.

I'm aiming to try and get it finished before our
first VW show in the spring.
I also fancy making some bunting to go
round the van as well.
I think i'm going to be a busy bee........Buzz.

Cosy time for Tea and some wool

Hi all hope you are well.
I thought i would share with you the
quick project i have just finished,
in between all the other two projects on the go
at the moment.

The cosy is a pattern from a book
that had strawberries on the top
but i wanted to brighten it up
so decided to make rosettes in all
colours to add a bit of a spring feel.

I don't know if the internet is a good or a bad thing
i keep coming across some gorgeous
patterns for things that i want to make.
This prompted a trip to my local wool
shop. They must have thought it was Christmas
again when i walked in
there was so much gorgeous wool.

This first box is some wool i got
for my stash, you could call it
just in case stash.
If i come across something that takes my eye
I've got some wool to get going
straight away.

I bought this alpaca to make a
knitted cushion which are all the rage in the
shops at the moment.
It's gorgeous to touch it's so soft.

This last bag is some Aran
for another cushion.

All i need now it about 30 hours in the day
to complete them all.

Blooming Lovely

Morning all hope you are well, it's still
dull and wet here in the north west.
So here's the promise of spring
to cheer us up.

Yesterday i was writing about the
daffodils i bought, well look what
i found

I painted this as you can see back in 2010.
I was sorting out stuff the other day and
came across it, It's been sat in the pad
since i painted it.  Well i thought
'Wow, I painted that!'
looking at it again all this time later,
it's better than i remember.
So i have put it into a frame which instantly
makes it look better and thinking
of putting it on my kitchen wall.

I sketched the image from a book of flowers and
painted it with watercolours.

Talking of flowers look whats
finally decided to flower again

My Orchid is flowering again.
Yippee!!!!!
It's been so long i had actually forgotten
what the flowers looked like.

I remember now i bought this one because
it looks like someone has just got some
paint and put splodges on it.

It must be a year ago since it last flowered but
it's well worth the wait, and there are two stems
so i should have quite a few flowers on it.

Oh well time to go, i might bake today
I'm in the mood for a cake.
Thanks for looking in today.
Take care

Molly fairy at Papertake

Hi all hope you're well on this dull and
miserable day, it's so yucky and dark,
but there's no rain.
Roll on spring.
When i was out this morning i
decided to cheer myself up
with the promise of colour by buying a
pot of daffodils. In a week or two
they will look wonderful, I'll post a picture
of them when they come out.

It's time for another Papertake Weekly
and this week's theme is

Die Cute Special

We want to see a die cut something on your card and
make it cute.

We are sponsored this week by the
fabulous
Stamp Fairy
and the prize is £10 to
spend in their on line shop.

I have used one of the digi stamps you can get at
The Stamp Fairy store
she is called Molly fairy on swing and is
easy to colour.
I used my copics and glitter pens.
Sentiment is computer generated.
The die cut shapes are made with a
Go Kreate frilly die.
The papers are from a freebie pad that i got
with a mag last year i think they where
from Pink Petticoat.
Flowers are from Prima and i used a black
pen to make the stamens match the paper and
finished it off with a green brad.
I was a bit miffed when at the end i put glitter
glue on her wings and the ink bled a bit.
I wasn't about to start again so it had to do,
I'll not do that again. Glitter glue and
digi images do not mix.

I don't know if you have notice but i changed the
name of my blog only slightly.
Instead of Paper Paradise I've changed it to
Crafty paradise. What with all the
crochet, knitting, the occasional beading, cross stitch
and very rarely painting i thought it best.

Well thanks for taking a look today, and please pop
over to Papertake and check out the other
fabulous DT's cards they are so good.

Take care

I'm back

Good morning all hope to find you well.
You may have noticed the lack of posts recently,
apart from the Papertake Weekly posts
i decided to have a little break over Christmas time.
I went cold turkey......ish on anything papery which
freed up a lot of time to divulge into the new
love of my crafty life Crochet/Knitting.

What could be better than looking at a basket
full of brightly coloured wool.

don't they look scrummy.
This is the wool i'm using for my latest project
here's a sneaky look at it so far.

It's going to be a scarf, but actually i love
the way it looks over my wool basket.
I might have to make some more to trim it.
Looking around blogland i have seen a few
flower scarves and thought they looked so lovely,
but could not find a pattern, then i found out that
the pattern came from a Japanese Crochet book.
Not being able to speak or read Japanese buying the book
was a no no.  So i decided to get a close up of one of the flowers and made a pattern up myself and this is
what i came up with, I'm so chuffed with it.
Listen to me, I've only made 9 at the moment
there's another 37 to go
i may not feel the same in a bit.

I also wanted to show you a couple of fab pressies
that Santa brought.

He brought me a new knitting bag to keep all my
hooks and needles in it's so gorgeous.  I also got
this fab book which is actually a tin full of
loveliness.

 Aren't these sooooo yummy.

This is what you can make, but it's so
lovely with little iddy biddy balls of wool in such delish colours i might have to just stroke it for the time being.

Ok i've got to be good now and actually get some
housework done the laundry basket it close
to overflowing. I don't know! this housework
keeps getting in the way of some serious crafting.
 Lol.

Thanks for looking today
i'll be back tomorrow with this weeks
Papertake challenge.
Take care
